Mejico Angeles was born in the Dominican Republic and joined Barrick Pueblo Viejo ten years ago as the Government Relations Manager. Since then, he’s progressively assumed roles with increased responsibility, including Government Affairs Director and now President at the operation. He has a bachelor degree in Business Administration and master’s degrees in Finance, Power Sector Economics, and Security Studies. He also holds a graduate degree in Geopolitical Studies. During his career, he has held other leadership roles in development projects in the power sector and in institutional relations.
Pueblo Viejo is located in the Dominican Republic, approximately 100 kilometers northwest of the capital city of Santo Domingo, and is operated by the Pueblo Viejo Dominicana Corporation—a joint venture between Barrick (60%) and Goldcorp (40%).
