Manager, Corporate Social Responsibility, Barrick Pueblo Viejo

Barrick arrived at Pueblo Viejo with the intention of leaving the environment in better condition than it found it, and the company is also firmly committed to leaving our host communities better off than when we first arrived in the Dominican Republic.

"I once heard a few lyrics from American country singer Kevin Welch that impacted me a lot: There’ll be two dates on your tombstone and all your friends will read ‘em, but all that’s gonna matter is that little dash between ‘em. What I’m doing with part of my dash as a member of the Barrick Pueblo Viejo team is contributing to building the company’s relationship with the community from different angles."

Faby Manzano is Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) at Barrick’s Pueblo Viejo mine in the Dominican Republic. A native of Santo Domingo, she is a trained psychologist, and has over 20 years of experience in empowering people from different industries to realize their full potential.

Faby joined Pueblo Viejo in 2007 from Falconbridge Dominicana where she spent 12 years managing their CSR efforts. She loves and protects animals, plants and justice, believes in innovation and in opening paths to new ideas.
